When you leave the main exhibit room via the back door, you will find a large collection of historic memorabelia in our backyard.
We have a full size stamp mill, stagecoach, work wagon, an assay office, a blacksmith’s shop, a restored and furnished 110 year old cabin, and a restored 1925 Graham Truck that actually runs.
You can visit a working assay office or check out the collection of cattle brands from many of the ranches within a 100 mile radius of the Kern Valley.
We also have an outdoor theater/meeting room where we show some of the old movies that were filmed here, host concerts, receptions, and meetings.

Covered Wagon
We’ve outfitted a covered wagon similar to one that might have been used by early pioneers on their westward journey.

Stagecoach
Another Model in our mining exhibit is of a 20-mule team similar to the wagons that carried ore to the mills.

Graham Truck
The 1925 Graham Truck spent it’s entire life in this Valley. The truck is started once a week by hand crank.

Miner’s Cabin
The Mayflower cabin is 150 years old and was once located in the Greenhorn Mountains.

Country Store
Our gift shop is a major source of income for the Historical Society. We have a wonderful variety of gifts, books, and DVD’s.
We have inside exhibits too!
